HUNTING FOR THE WHIPPERWOO (Sample Poems)

The Chocolate Chip Pirates

The Lonely Sock

THE CHOCOLATE CHIP PIRATES

Sailing reckless and free on the Sugarwave Sea,
There roams a ruthless, almost-toothless band!
They are searching for sweets and tummy-pleasing treats,
And they steal with a hungry hand!

They load up their ships as they lick their lips,
And their cruel Captain CookieClaw grumbles!
The poor people, they pout, as the Pirates, they shout,
"That's how the cookie crumbles!"

We are Chocolate Chip Pirates!
We care nothing for gold!
But if cookies are about,
We are brave and bold!"

Now the wind's at their backs, and they're hungry for snacks,
And I know that they can't be too far,
For I have a bad feeling that tonight they'll be stealing,
So guard your cookie jar!

THE LONELY SOCK

Did he lose his brother in the wash?
He really is so confused,
Because now he sits in the drawer alone,
And he is never ever used.

He is just a single sock,
But socks must come in pairs,
So ever since he lost his twin brother,
No one seems to care.

But now he's not so lonely
Even though he has lost his brother,
Because the world is filled with lonely socks,
And he has met another!
